Legion M members and investors had a great time at our SDCC lounge!

We’re always glad when our Legion M members and investors have a great time at our events, and San Diego Comic Con 2019 was no exception! Check out some testimonials from our member and investors, from the front lines of the Legion M lounge at this year’s event.

I volunteered for Legion M to help out during our Jay and Silent Bob Handprint ceremony on Friday afternoon at the Theatre Box, and all was going well... until the Fire Marshall showed up.

Long story short, I was made responsible for guarding one of the main doors to the venue for crowd control while listening to the ceremony. It turned out okay, even though I stopped David Baxter from just walking in because I didn’t recognize him in his full cosplay! Sorry David, but none shall pass! (I recognized him as soon as he said he was a Legion M executive; and yes, I did let him enter.) Jeff Annison (president) got a laugh out of it at least.

I somehow ended up at dinner with the Legion M crew afterwards and had a great time. Everyone was genuinely warm and friendly, which makes me feel even better about my investment in the company. I felt good about volunteering, too, as I’m supporting my investment and want to help the company succeed.

San Diego Comic-Con 2019 was an absolute whirlwind of fun and people! I took some time to check out the Legion M Lounge and was not disappointed. With a rooftop lounge with activities to be completed for some cool swag, this was a great place to find a moment to sit, enjoy a drink and some music, and see lots of cosplay. Can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store!

Guests of honor Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes at the Jay and Silent Bob handprint ceremony, thrown by the ever amazing Legion M!

Kevin Smith, man, thank you for the countless hours of entertainment in near all forms. Thank you for selling your comic books to make Clerks and then following that up with two comic-centric love stories with Mallrats and Chasing Amy, while cementing (pun!) the Jay and Silent Bob characters. Having Jason Lee in those films was insane as I knew him from skate videos and he was comedy! Kevin played a character named Jack Kirby in the Daredevil movie and has been a dear friend of Stan Lee since way back, so it was great to see all the love being passed around at this event.

Well deserved Mr. Smith. Nice to see Legion M making it happen with the Jay & Silent Bob Reboot, and I’ll be viewing that, as soon as you let us.

This year was my third time at SDCC, and each time I’m learning new tips and tricks of the trade to have a more enjoyable experience. This year had less long line standing, but still a lot of walking. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful con buddy and roommate to partake of this great opportunity each year we go, and have now turned him on to the benefits of joining Legion M.

I ran into friends on my way to Legion M’s “Memory: The Origins of Alien” screening on Friday and made new ones each day in SDCC. I swung by the Legion M Lounge on Saturday and stayed on to help when they were short of volunteers. The lounge had a great atmosphere and felt roomier than last year at Harbor House. The Quick Stop façade outside with Marilyn was a great draw for crowds and photo-ops, and I was on-hand to help those fans who wanted to take pictures.

The Sugar Factory was a great location for all the events hosted, as well as for having the Stargate Command check-in and Pop Insider activities. I can’t wait to see what the next booth / con lounges will look like!

I’ve been going to San Diego Comic-Con for the better part of 10 years. Usually I go for a few days to meet up with a few artist friends that I don’t get to see often, but this year was very special because I spent most of the time with Legion M. I love that you can show up without knowing anyone and feel part of a community immediately. One of the reasons I invested in Legion M is because of the sense of community — that, and I’m a cinephile, so it brings those two things into the fold. If you didn’t get a chance to visit the Legion M event during SDCC, boy, did you miss a party! It was some of the most fun I’ve had at SDCC since my first time going. I can’t wait for what we do next year!

Legion M... what can I say other than “AMAZEBALLS!” The SDCC experience is just so much more muchiness when you have a super cool Legion M lounge to visit with friends, take some crazy selfies, sample delightful baked goods from KneadyBakery, and oh yeah... attend a HANDPRINT ceremony with the Jay and Silent Bob! OMG Becky! Screenings, celebrities, cool cosplay and just F-U-N in the best way possible… #IAmLegionM and I cannot wait until next year!
